Today at school, the teacher says, “Take out your homework.”
I open my backpack and feel a little nervous.
I look everywhere, but my homework isn’t there.
Oh no! I forgot it at home.
I raise my hand and say, “I’m sorry, I forgot.”
The teacher nods and says, “Thank you for telling the truth.”
She gives me a new paper to do during free time.
Next time, I will double-check my backpack.
Everyone makes mistakes—it’s okay to learn from them.
I won’t forget my homework tomorrow!
