When I study English, I use a dictionary all the time. At first, I used a paper dictionary, but now I use a phone app. It’s faster and easier. When I don’t know a word, I type it in and read the meaning. I also listen to the pronunciation.
One day in class, our teacher said, “The word is ‘challenge.’” I didn’t understand it, so I quickly searched on my app. I found the meaning: something that is difficult, but also exciting. I smiled. That word felt true. Learning English is a challenge—but a good one.
I use the dictionary not just for meaning, but to see how to use words in a sentence. Many apps also show example sentences. That helps me understand more clearly.
Sometimes, I see a word many times before I remember it. That’s okay. I learn step by step. My dictionary helps me feel confident, like I have a friend in my pocket.
Now, using a dictionary is part of my routine. It’s not just about looking up words. It’s about building understanding and growing stronger in English. Every word I learn brings me closer to fluency.
