Every morning, the mailman comes at 9 a.m. My dog, Max, hears him and starts barking. He runs to the door and jumps up and down. The mailman puts letters in the box and says, “Good morning, Max!” My dog still barks loudly. I open the door and get the mail. Max smells the letters and stops barking. I pet him and say, “Good boy.” The mailman laughs and waves goodbye. This happens every day. Max thinks he is protecting the house. He is a loud but friendly dog. I smile because Max is part of my morning routine.
