Cody the crab loved the sound of ocean waves and the feel of warm sand under his tiny claws.
One morning, he peeked out from behind a rock and saw seagulls flying and seashells glistening in the sun.
He scuttled out quickly, not forward or backward, but sideways—his special way of walking!
The other beach animals watched in wonder as Cody zipped left, then right, making funny zigzags in the sand.
A curious fish popped out of a tide pool and asked, “Why don’t you walk straight?”
Cody chuckled and said, “Sideways is my style—it keeps life interesting!”
He danced a little crabby dance, making everyone laugh and cheer.
Proud and playful, Cody waved his claw high, happy to be just the way he was.
