My little brother has a strange habit. He never brushes his teeth before breakfast—only after. I used to think that was wrong. “You’re supposed to brush as soon as you wake up!” I told him. But he smiled and said, “What’s the point if I’m going to eat anyway?” I didn’t have a good answer. Every morning, he eats his cereal slowly, watching cartoons. Then, after breakfast, he goes to the bathroom and brushes his teeth for a full two minutes. He even sets a timer. One day, I watched him. He was serious, focused, and very careful. “I want clean teeth all day,” he said. I laughed, but I started thinking about his routine. Maybe brushing after breakfast isn’t so strange. Now, I sometimes do the same. It feels fresh and makes sense in a way. My brother taught me something without trying. Small habits can be personal. We all have different ways to do things, and that’s okay.
