Every morning at 7:15, I wait at the same bus stop. It’s on the corner of my street, near the bakery. The bus usually arrives at 7:20, but I like to get there early. There’s a woman who also waits for the same bus. She wears a blue coat and carries a green bag. At first, we didn’t talk. We just smiled politely. But after many mornings together, we started chatting. Now, it’s part of my daily routine. We talk about the weather, our jobs, or funny things we saw on the way. It’s a small conversation, but it makes the morning better. Sometimes, she saves me a seat if I get on the bus after her. Other times, I do the same for her. One time, the bus didn’t come. We both waited and waited. Finally, we decided to share a taxi. We laughed the whole ride. That’s when I realized how nice it is to share part of your routine with someone. We’re not close friends, but we are part of each other’s morning. Taking the same bus is not just about getting to work—it’s about starting the day with a little kindness and connection.
